Classification and Functional Performance Requirements of Manifold


Ⅰ. Classification of Manifold

According to the different materials, there are 3 main categories:  brass manifold, stainless steel manifold and engineering plastic manifold.

Because of the different physical properties of the above three types of manifolds, their application fields are not the same. In our life, most of the manifolds used in the water and floor heating system of ordinary civil buildings is brass manifold. And most of the manifolds used in the water and floor heating system of large public buildings is stainless steel manifold. Because the engineering plastic manifold has lower pressure resistance than the first two kinds of manifold, it is more suitable for the water and floor heating system with fewer branches.

According to different control modes: ball valve control, stop valve control, and no control (only water distribution). And the stop valve control can be divided into automatic thermal drive control and manual control.

.  Function and Performance Requirements of Manifold

1 Air tightness test: no leakage at 8Kg air pressure

2 Hydrostatic strength test: 24kg water pressure no leakage, no deformation

3 Life test: no leakage spool 80,000 times

4 Mechanics Performance Testing

  1. The torque of the main G1 thread shall be above 125N. M

  2. The torsion force of 3/4 thread of manifold is more than 100N. M

  3. The bending moment of the main body shall be above 340 N. M

  4. The bending moment of the branch must be more than 105N.M

5 Salt spray pressure test, neutral salt spray test to level 10 or more
